How do you develop a world class economy?

March 20, 2014

In 20 years of democracy, South Africa has not seen below 20% unemployment, nor has it need double digit economic growth as seen in Asia and some African countries.

There is, however, a glimmer of hope for where the economy could grow.

To become more competitive, consideration should be made around how best to develop a world class economy:

– How about supporting your social entrepreneurs and giving them the opportunity to support communities with innovative solutions to social challenges, collaborating with the efforts of government and civil society.

– There is also the opportunity to improve the startup ecosystem by encouraging more entrepreneurs within your economy, through various incentives and policies.

– Perhaps work harder on giving your high growth entrepreneurs access to global markets.

If the environment and mood for doing business is positive, business will happen.
